The Honda Prologue has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard to help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; keeping them better positioned during a collision. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Ioniq 5 doesn’t offer knee airbags.
There are over 27 percent more Honda dealers than there are Hyundai dealers, making it easier to schedule service under the Prologue’s warranty.
The Prologue has larger standard tires than the Ioniq 5 (255/60R19 vs. 235/55R19). The Prologue Elite’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Ioniq 5 (275/45R21 vs. 255/45R20). For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Prologue Elite has standard 21-inch wheels. The Ioniq 5’s largest wheels are only 20-inches. Self-sealing tires are available on the Prologue and can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Ioniq 5 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.
The Prologue’s wheelbase is 3.7 inches longer than on the Ioniq 5 (121.8 inches vs. 118.1 inches). For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Prologue is 1.7 inches wider in the front and 1.5 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Ioniq 5. The Prologue has a 2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Ioniq 5 (8.1 vs. 6.1 inches), allowing the Prologue to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.
The Prologue has 5.2 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Ioniq 5 (111.7 vs. 106.5). The Prologue has 3.7 inches more front hip room, 1.7 inches more shoulder room in the front and .8 inches more rear hip room than the Ioniq 5.
