In 1973 Bert Lindsay founded Honda East on East Main Street in Bexley, selling Honda Motorcycles. The Honda East “Bike Shop” had a long heritage of making customers first and being known as the friendly motorcycle shop. Soon the oil crisis of the 1970’s hit and motorcycles were no longer just for pleasure, but now a necessity. Business soon slowed after the oil crisis and Honda had already introduced a small line of high quality automobiles. Reluctant at first Mr. Lindsay soon saw the future of Honda engineering in the automotive business. Quickly consumers began talking about these great cars called Hondas, that were priced great, had great gas mileage and best of all they ran problem free for what seemed like forever! Cars were now selling in volume and in 1981 Honda East soon expanded to its current location on Scarborough Boulevard in Columbus, Ohio. It was in 1986 that Honda came out with the first Japanese luxury brand Acura, with the introduction of the Legend and Integra, both well recognized names in the car industry. In 1988, Mr. Lindsay formed Lindsay Acura selling every Legend and Integra the factory would send. Soon more models came in the name of Vigor, RL, CL, NSX, and MDX. Today Lindsay Honda and Lindsay Acura are proud to be selling the finest lines of vehicles ever produced in the wonderful city of Columbus, Ohio.
